Hardcandies have a solid consistency. They can be made with or without sugar. With sugar glucosesyrup and sugar. Sugarfree on the base of isomalt or sorbitol and the use of different sweeteners. Hardcandies are made with or without filling (liquid/semi-liquid). Hardcandies can be manufactured in both stamping and moulding technologies.
Active substances are released slowly into the body with the advantages e.g. for sore throat. Hardboiled candies with fillings have the advantage that some active ingredients can be better protected (e.g. against oxidation).
